The Faculty of Maritime Studies at King Abdulaziz University hosted an interactive
session for the global E1 Electric Boat Racing Series, attended by race organizers,
officials, competitors, students, and faculty members. The event was held on
Thursday, January 22, 2026, at the faculty auditorium.

The session aimed to raise awareness of the E1 Series and its innovative
contributions to marine sustainability and technology, while also exploring the
engineering and maritime aspects of electric boat racing. It served as a platform for
direct engagement between students and the race’s organizing bodies.
This visit reflects the university’s commitment to fostering partnerships between the
educational sector and international events, while showcasing the role of the Faculty
of Maritime Studies in preparing highly qualified national talent. It also reinforces the
values of sustainability and innovation, in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030.
As part of the same initiative, the Faculty received a group of 12th-grade students
from Al-Aqsa Schools in Jeddah. The visit included an introductory session on the
faculty’s academic programs and specializations, along with a presentation on career
and educational opportunities within the maritime sector.

Students were also introduced to the E1 Electric Boat Racing Series through a
simplified overview highlighting the race’s importance in promoting sustainable
marine technology and environmental preservation. These topics were closely tied to
relevant academic disciplines.
A guided tour was organized for both the visiting students and E1 representatives,
covering various classrooms, laboratories, and training facilities. The tour provided
insights into the faculty’s educational environment and academic infrastructure,
reinforcing the connection between academic study and hands-on experience.
